Pinstripe Suit swing band continues its sell-out residency at Nightjar speakeasy in Shoreditch into 2015. But for 2015 a new late show is being added to the monthly performances on the 3rd Saturday each month. Pinstripe Suit main two-set show is at 21:30 and then there is now an additional quartet late show at 00:30.

Pizza Express The Pheasantry on King's Road in London is the final venue on the 2014 'Sing. Play.' tour for Robin and the trio, on Thursday 27th November. The gig promises to be a great one as the trio have been honing the set over the past few months on gigs. The trio will also be recording the gig so watch out for the live takes to follow!

The long-awaited tour to accompany the launch of Robin Phillips' new jazz album starts on 9th October at the Cambridge Modern Jazz Club. The 'Sing. Play... for Pleasure' album is a vocalese pilgrimage inspired by one of the genre's originators, King Pleasure.
The launch gig at Cambridge Modern Jazz features the Robin Phillips Trio with special guest Sam Mayne on sax.
The tour will then continue with the trio on Sunday 12th Oct at The Jam Factory in Oxford.

Robin P-iano opens new Piano Bar in Cambridge
repmusic has teamed up with De Luca Cucina and Millers Music in Cambridge to open Cambridge's first Piano Bar!
The new Piano Bar will be at De Luca Cucina on Regent Street in Cambridge in the venue's Top Floor Cocktail Bar. Robin P-iano will be performing every Friday from 8pm starting on 17th October with Thursdays being added from December.

Pinstripe Reduit performs at 12a Club in Cambridge
Pinstripe Reduit, the trio version of Pinstripe Suit swing band, will perform at a special event at 12a private members club in Cambridge city centre on Saturday 11th October.
12a is a cocktail bar styled on the Prohibition Era and the upbeat performance from this high-octane swing trio will compliment the venue perfectly. Non-members are able to buy tickets for the event.

'Sing. Play... for Pleasure' album tour dates announced
Robin will be touring his new album material this Autumn in a series of gigs across the South East of England. Most dates feature the Robin Phillips Trio with Alex Best on drums and Jay Darwish on bass, unless stated.
The tour starts in Cambridge at Cambridge Modern Jazz on Thursday 9th October. This performance will also feature special guest Sam Mayne on tenor and alto sax. The next stop is The Jam Factory in Oxford on Sun 12th Oct, which is followed by the WM Jazz Club at the O2 in London on Thurs 16th Oct.
There is another date in London at Boisdale Jazz Club in Canary Wharf on Tuesday 21st October before the tour moves up to The Fox Inn in Bury St Edmunds on Sunday 26th October. Robin will then perform with the Safari Music house trio in North Finchley on Sunday 9th November and the tour concludes at Pizza Express The Pheasantry in Chelsea on Thurs 27th November.

On Tuesday 29th July Robin will perform at Boisdale jazz club in Canary Wharf, London with TonyRoyle on trumpet and Jay Darwish on bass. The trio will be performing the music made famous by Chet Baker, including his own compositions.

New album launch Event – Feb 2nd 2014
Robin is delighted to be launching his new CD at his first choice venue, the much revered Pizza Express Dean Street jazz club, that has welcomed most great names in jazz over the years. The launch will take place on Sunday 2nd February and is one of the few events where we say ‘Please Come!’. It is the most important event in Robin’s career to date and all support is very welcome!
The launch is looking to be quite an event, with most of the new album artists and guests performing live. Tim Thornton is on bass, Chris Draper on drums and the trio will be joined by the following special guests: vocalist Anita Wardell, trumpeter Steve Fishwick, and saxophonists Sam Mayne and Albert Garza.

The video supports the launch of his new 'Sing. Play.. for Pleasure' vocalese album, which takes place at Pizza Express Dean Street in London on Sunday 2nd February (see news item above).
The music video features Robin alongside jazz vocalist Anita Wardell, saxophionist Albert Garza, bassist Tim Thornton, and drummer Chris Draper and was filmed at Hoxton speakeasy bar, Nightjar.

Performance at The Fox Inn, Finchingfield for Annie's Jazz
Robin will be performing in trio line-up at The Fox Inn, Finchingfield, Essex on Thursday 23rd January. Robin will be joined by Albert Garza on sax and Mike McGibney on bass and performing music from his new album as well as songs from previous CDs.

After 18 months in the making, it is finally time to launch the new studio album from Robin Phillips. The album is a pilgrimage to the art of vocalese singing, inspired by the one of the genre’s founding fathers, King Pleasure. On the new album, Robin sings as well as plays the selection of vocalese solos, which is where lyrics are put to famous solos. Singer Ian Shaw and saxophonist Brandon Allen both guest on the CD along with other top names on the UK jazz scene (see launch event below). Robin has also penned original lyrics to two songs on the album and recorded some almost-lost liner notes from one of the masters of vocalese, Jon Hendricks, written in 1972.

This Saturday Robin is performing in trio format at one of the Pizza Express brand’s top jazz clubs. The trio will perform at The Pheasantry on King’s Road in Chelsea on Sat 4th January and feature Jay Darwish on bass and Matt Skelton on drums. Pinstripe Suit swing band news
It’s also a really exciting time for Robin’s swing band, Pinstripe Suit and 2014 looks set to be the best year yet for the band. The band released its new album ‘Pinstripe Suit Live!’ in November and the CD can be purchased from the Pinstripe Suit page of the repmusic website. The Hippodrome in London's Leicester Square is launching a very exciting new Speakeasy series for 2014 and Pinstripe Suit is a major part of the action! Whilst there is even more exciting news yet to be released, one part of the new series is a new weekly Speakeasy night starting on Tuesday 4th February, with Pinstripe’s first monthly performance on Tuesday 18th Feb.
Due to popular demand repmusic has launched a reduced line-up version of Pinstripe Suit, allowing the band to take its popular songs and energy to venues that cannot fit in the whole band. Pinstripe Réduit already has a residency at the new speakeasy bar, the Hoxley & Porter, in Islington, one Saturday a month.

Robin returns to Lausanne in Switzerland for 10 Duelling Pianos performances at Kingsize piano bar in November. His duelling partner for the two weeks of gigs will be popular European piano entertainer, Chris Mars.
Pinstripe Suit Live! CD launch
Robin's 7-piece swing band launches it's first CD album on Saturday 16th November. The CD, called Pinstripe Suit Live!, features a collection of tracks recorded live at Boisdale Canary Wharf and two previously recorded studio tracks. The CD will be launched at the band's monthly residency performance at speakeasy bar, Nightjar, in Old Street, London, on Sat 16th November. The event has already sold out.
Harry Connick Jr night at Boisdale Canary Wharf
On Wednesday 6th November the Robin Phillips Trio pay tribute to the music or Harry Connick Jr at Boisdale Canary Wharf. Robin will be joined by Chris Draper (drums) and Jay Darwish (bass) as they perform jazz standards brought new life by Connick and a collection of his original tunes.

Three gigs for Robin Phillips Quartet on London jazz scene
The Robin Phillips Quartet will perform three times on the London jazz scene in the first two weeks in August. On Sat 3rd August the quartet plays the popular Archduke jazz bar's late set, starting at 10pm and featuring Robin alongside top bebop saxophonist Sam Mayne, bassist Ben Hazelton, and drummer Dave Ohm.
On Thursday 8th and 15th August, the quartet plays the flagship Boisdale jazz bar, both gigs starting at 10pm. On Thurs 8th the quartet features Robin with sax powerhouse Brandon Allen, drummer Chris Draper (drummer on Robin's new album), and bassist Jay Darwish. Jay joins Robin again on 15th with Alex Garnett on tenor sax and Matt Home on drums.

Jazz Lounge returns to CMJ
The Jazz Lounge sessions, hosted by the Robin Phillips Trio, in association with Cambridge Modern Jazz, continue in the Autumn with the first one on Thursday 12th September. The house band of Robin Phillips on piano / vocals, Joel Humann on bass, and Derek Scurll on drums will be joined by special guest, trumpeter Steve Fishwick. Steve is one of the UK's top jazz trumpeters and a regular at Ronnie Scott's jazz club in London's Soho.

New Pinstripe Suit album and video
The new live Pinstripe Suit album is nearing completion, with mixing taking place in August at Zoo studio in Cambridge. The video which accompanies the new live album, recorded at Boisdale Canary Wharf in London, was filmed at Cambridge Lindy dance club and Boisdale Canary Wharf gigs and is in the final stages of editing.
New jazz album nears compeltion
Robin's new sing/play vocalese jazz album is nearing completion. The photoshoot for the album's artwork will take place on 14th Aug in Cambridge and the photography will be done by world-famous music photographer Mick Hutson.
The album's edits are all now complete, and the album will be mixed at Derek Nash's studio on 16th August.
Pinstripe Suit records new live EP at Boisdale
Quickly becoming known as one of the best swing bands in the UK, Pinstripe Suit will perform and record a new 'live at Boisdale' EP in June.
The band will feature its 7-piece line-up including piano/vocals, female vocals, sax, trumpet, trombone, bass and drums at Boisdale Canary Wharf on Tuesday 11th June.
To celebrate the event Boisdale is running a competition to win tickets to the gig and a copy of the new live recording.

In June, Robin returns to perform at one of the world's most famous piano bars: the American Bar in The Savoy in London. Robin will perform on Saturday 8th June entertaining guests that in the past have included Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, and Elton John.

Pinstripe Suit swing band performs at the Speakeasy night for the Cambridge Lindy dance society on Monday 6th May. Cambridge Lindy hosts a swing dance night each Monday at the Man on the Moon venue in Cambridge and invites swing bands to play for the dancers each month. Pinstripe Suit specialises in performing for swing dance and lindy dance groups and has previously performed for the London Swing Dance Society at the 100 Club and the Norfolk Swing Dance Society.

CMJ Jazz Lounge ft. Sam Mayne
Robin continues his 'Jazz Lounge' series with Cambridge Modern Jazz on Thursday 11th April at Hidden Rooms in Cambridge city centre. The house band features Robin on piano / vocals, Derek Scurll on drums and Joel Humann on bass.
The special guest in April is the phenominal young alto sax player, Sam Mayne. Sam is a member of the BBC Big Band, Stan Tracey Octet, Guy Barker Orchestra and formerly the John Dankworth big band. He appears regularly at Ronnie Scott's Club and was a Perrier award winner in 2000 for Best Band with his own quartet.
The evening also features a jazz jam, where local musicians can join the band to try out their own improvising skills.

In the studio recording new album

Robin returns to Archduke on London's Southbank
Robin will perform at London's Archduke jazz bar on Saturday 2nd March with a fantastic line-up. The band will feature Geoff Gascoyne on bass, Seb DeKrom on drums, and Sammy Mayne on alto sax.
The group will be playing a variety of music including music from Robin's 'Old Street, New Groove' album, and music from his upcoming album, being recorded later in March.
The performace starts at 10pm but there is live music from 7:30pm.

On Thursday 28th February, Robin hosts his second 'Jazz Lounge' night with Cambridge Modern Jazz at the Hidden Rooms in Cambridge city centre.
Doors open at 18:30 and the performance will feature London special guest, Brandon Allen on sax, with Robin on vocals and piano, Joel Humann on bass, and Derek Scurll on drums.
There will also be a jazz jam element to the evening.

New regular jazz performances at The Plough, Great Chesterford
repmusic has teamed up with the new landlords at The Plough to present regular live jazz.
On the second Sunday each month there will be live jazz during the afternoon in the rare Nat King Cole-style trio featuring Robin Phillips on piano/vocals, Louis Thorne on guitar, and Joel Humann on bass.
On the last Wednesday each month is the 'Jazz Junction' night where Robin Phillips will be joined by a bass player and a special guest from the London jazz scene.
The first 'Jazz Junction' is Wednesday 27th February and features special guest Steve Fishwick on trumpet, supported by Robin Phillips on piano and Joel Humann on bass.

repmusic has teamed up with long-running provider of live jazz Cambridge Modern Jazz to present a regular jazz night with a house trio, guests and a jam.
The Robin Phillips Trio will host the evenings, held on Thursday nights when the main CMJ programme is not scheduled. Each month the house trio will be joined by a guest from the London jazz scene. Guests include Brandon Allen (tenor sax), Tom Walsh (trumpet), and Sam Mayne (alto sax). There will also be a jazz jam as part of the evenings.
The 'Jazz Lounge' will be held in Cambridge city centre at the Hidden Rooms. Entrance is £8 or £6 for concessions (including musicians).

Pinstripe Suit performs at The Savoy for New Year's Eve!
Pinstripe Suit will perform at the world famous hotel, The Savoy, on The Strand in London, as part of the venue's New Year's Eve celebrations.
The seven-piece swing and vocal jazz band will perform throughout the evening in the bandstand in the Thames Foyer. It is a fitting end to what has been a great year for the band, with performances abroad, a performance at the Royal Albert Hall, and TV performances along with many private events.

Pinstripe Suit, Robin's 7-piece swing and vocal jazz band, was selected to perform on the popular ITV2 show: The Only Way Is Essex, twice in December.

Performances at new Duelling Pianos bar in Birmingham
Robin will be performing regularly at the new Duelling Pianos venue in Birmingham city centre. Robin's performances will take place on the second weekend each month, with Duelling Pianos shows on Friday and Saturday, solo jazz piano on the Sunday afternoon and a jazz trio performance on the Sunday evening.

Robin returns to Switzerland for more Duelling Pianos
Robin returns to Switzerland in November for two weeks of Duelling Pianos performances at Kingsize in Lausanne, on the bank of Lake Geneva.
The performances will take place from 13th - 25th November.
Duelling Pianos team performs at Butlins
Duelling Pianos will perforn at Butlins Bognor Regis as part of the resort's Adult Entertainment Weekend on 9th - 11th November.
The performances will feature Robin and fellow piano entertainer Jason Stanley playing request shows in Jaks bar on Friday and Saturday from 11pm.
Jazz performance at Hot Numbers Cafe, Cambridge
As part of Robin's new regularl performances in Cambridge and Cambridgeshire, he will be appearing at the Hot Numbers Cafe in Cambridge on Thursday 8th November.
Musician-owned Hot Numbers Cafe is dedicated to live music and puts on regular live performances. Robin will be joined on 8th November by bassist Louis Thorne.

New Duelling Pianos music bar opening in Birmingham
Robin is closely involved with the opening of the UK's first dedicated Duelling Pianos bar. The bar, which will also feature live jazz on Sundays, will open on Thursday 1st Nov and is on Broad Street, in Birmingham's city centre. The bar will include live music 6 days a week.
Robin wil be performing as part of the Duelling Pianos shows during the opening week on Tuesday 30th October, Wednesday 31st October and Thursday 1st November. Keep an eye on the gigs page for other performances.
repmusic is responsible for all the live jazz at the venue. Robin will be performing as part of the weekly jazz programme at the venue on Sunday 9th December and Sunday 13th January. Jazz performances start at 1pm.

Monthly jazz performances in Linton, Cambridgeshre
Robin has created a new regular jazz performance at the Dog and Duck pub in Linton village centre in Cambridgeshire. The performances will happen on the 1st Sunday of every month from 3pm.
Cambridgeshire-based performers joining Robin at the gigs include Jim Free (sax), Hannah Horton (sax), Gareth Lumbers (sax), Louis Thorne (bass), and Dave Olney (bass). Upcoming performance dates include: Sunday 7th October, Sunday 4th November, and Sunday 2nd December 2012.

Savoy American Bar performance
Robin will be performing in the world-famous American Bar at the Savoy on Sunday 9th September. Robin is a resident entertainer in the Beaufort Bar at the Savoy but this will be the first time that he has performed in the American Bar.
Pinstripe Suit to play Royal Albert Hall
Pinstripe Suit have been asked to perform at the Royal Albert Hall as part of its Ignite music series.
The band will perform a lunchtime show on Friday 24th August at 12noon.

Pinstripe Suit Nightjar performances continue throughout 2012
Pinstripe Suit's performances at the Nightjar speakeasy bar in Hoxton will continue for the remainder of 2012. The band will continue to perform at the Prohibition-themed 1930s-styled basement bar on the 3rd Saturday of every month.

Mother's Day performance at Boisdale Canary Wharf
Following his debut performance at Boisdale Canary Wharf for the Jazz FM Discovery Show in 2011, the Robin Phillips Trio returns to the Jools Holland-patroned jazz venue on Sunday 18th March.

Friday residency at the Savoy
Robin will perform at the world-famous Savoy hotel each Friday starting in March. Each week he will be joined by a guest vocalist orsaxophonist. The performances will take place in the beautiful art deco Beaufort Bar from 8:30pm.

Pinstripe Suit to perform in Amsterdam
Pinstripe Suit swing band will fly out to Amsterdam in February for a one-off performance in the amazing De Industrieele Groote Club. The performance is part of a 1930s speakeasy event for one of the UK's biggest entertainment companies, Bourne Leisure. Pinstripe Suit will be joined by the Ministry Of Fun who will be adding prohibition-style theatre to the event.
TV Filming - BGT & DTTB
Robin is taking part in two TV shows in February. First, Robin is filming for the new series of Britain's Got Talent with fellow Piano Entertainer Robbie Peaple performing a Duelling Pianos show. The pair will perform at the Hammersmith Apollo in front of 4,000 people and the judges: Simon Cowell, Carmen Electra, David Walliams, and Alicia Dixon. The duelling pianists have made it through to the last 140 acts from 70,000 applicants.

Robin's 6-piece swing group, Pinstripe Suit, become a 7-piece for the ensemble's return to this funky Hoxton Prohibtion-style speakeasy.
The Alph Horns, featuring Gareth Lumbers (sx), Freddie Bols (tp), and Howard Felton (tb), join the regular Pinstripe team of Robin (pn/vx), Claire Brock (dr), Vil Hais (bs), and Kirsty Jarvis (vx).

Kir Royal Trio perform at The Dorchester for NYE
Robin's duel-vocal jazz trio, featuring female jazz vocalist Kirsty Jarvis will perform at The Dorchester hotel as part of its New Year's Eve celebrations.
The trio will also feature George Trebar on acoustic bass as the harmonising team performing to special guests at the world-famous hotel.
Robin heads to Switerland for Duelling Pianos
Robin will be a feature performer at the Kingsize Duelling Piano bar in Lausanne for two weeks in January.
From 4th - 14th January, Robin will perform with fellow-dueller Drew Chamberlain each night of the week (Tues - Sat).
Robin to help launch the new Porsche 911 (991)
Robin will be performing at Porsche Centres around the country in December to help the legendary sportcars manufacturer launch the new Porsche 911, called the 991.
Chosen to match the high-class appeal of the Porsche brand, Robin will be performing upbeat swing at the various launch events across the UK.
Pinstripe Suit to perform at Nightjar
In the first of what will hopefully be regular public performances, Robin's six-piece swing band, Pinstripe Suit, will take to the stage at Prohibition-styled Nightjar bar by Old Street on Saturday 19th November.
Often restricted to private performances, Pinstripe Suit is very excited about having the opportunity to play a rare public gig.
The ensemble, featuring bandleader Robin, Kirsty Jarvis (vocals), Gareth Lumbers (sax), Neil Penny (tpt), Vilem Hais (bass) and Claire Brock (drums), will perform two high-octane sets, featuring classic swing, and also music from the 1990's US swing revival, as featured in films sich as Swingers and The Mask.

Huge variety of performances in November
Robin has a packed schedule of very different performances this November.
His will perform his residencies at Piano Soho (pop requests) each Tuesday, Shanghi Blues (jazz duo) each Friday, and Piano Kensington (jazz night) each Sunday.
On November 3rd Robin plays a Spy-themed gig with saxophonist Stacey Dawson. Robin then performs in trio format at the Old Bank Of England in trio format on Weds 9th and 23rd November.
On Saturday 12th Robin performs at the Savoy's Beaufort Bar with Emma Smith, quickly becoming the most talked about new star on the jazz scene.
Saturday Dorchester performances are on 5th and 26th with a rare public performance of Robin's 6-piece band, Pinstripe Suit, at Nightjar on Sat 19th (see above).

New trio residency at the Dorchester hotel
Following various previous performances at the World-famous Dorchester hotel, Robin will now be featuring on Saturday nights in the Promenade Bar.
In a line up featuring Robin, bass, and sax, the ensemble will perform both jazz and pop music to suit the mood and requests from the audience. The Promenade is often frequented by some of the World's most famous celebrities and so this regular performance slot is one of London's top residencies.
New venue: Boisdale Bishopsgate
Robin performs for the first time at Boisdale Bishopsgate this month, following his quartet's successful performance at Boisdale Canary Wharf for Jazz FM in July (see news item below). His first performance is on Weds 7th September. The next performance after that will be Weds 17th October.

Robin joins the Duelling Piano team
Robin becomes a feature performer with the new UK-based Duelling Pianos company, starting this month. He will perform on 1st September at Avenue on Shaftesbury Avenue and at Billingsgate for the Square Meal Venue and Events show on 22nd September. Following that, Robin will perform with fellow duellers Robbie Peaple and Danny Mills at Vodka Revolution in Clapham on Thursday 27th October.

New addition to the Phillips household
Robin became a father on July 29th, Amelie Rose Phillips was born at 3am, weighing 7lb4oz. Mother and baby are both doing well.
Jazz FM gig and broadcast
Robin has been selected as one of the hot emerging artists on the London jazz scene and will perform for the Jazz FM Discovery Show on Wednesday 27th July, at 20:00.
Robin will perform with his quartet including Gareth Lumbers (sax), Claire Brock (drums), and Vil Hais (bass) at the new Boisdale jazz venue in Canary Wharf, where the gig will be recorded by Jazz FM.
The gig will then be broadcast along with an interview with Robin on Tuesday 2nd August at 21:00 on Mike Vitti's Jazz FM Discovery Show.
